Currently in the USA there are no federal laws regarding internet data privacy or sharing of website browsing data. As of today, several states have produced regulations to limit the sharing of website traffic information by internet service companies. For example, Google is one of those companies.

States with published comprehensive data privacy laws are California, Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado, Utah, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Oregon, Montana, Texas, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.

The only products used on this website that collect data website visitor traffic are Google Analytics.

  1. We use Matomo Analytics to record and store data about website visitor traffic. Their servers are located in Germany, which is the location our data on website visitor traffic is stored. That information does use cookies, or tracking technology, on our website, but that collected data is in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) procedures. When you browse our website we anonymize tracking data about your visit(s) and regularly delete old raw data from our database. We mask the last six digits of your IP address that is stored.

  2. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager on this website which is under review in many countries for compliance with GDPR.
The type of information collected by Google during your visit includes the following:
    -- Unique identifiers
    -- Browser type and settings
    -- Device type and settings
    -- Operating system
-- Mobile network information including carrier name and phone number
    -- Application version number

Google also collects information on the apps, browsers, and devices you use for/with their services, including IP address, crash reports, system activity, and the date, time, and referrer URL of your request.

Included in the collected data is the activity you perform, such as the following:
-- Search terms on Google
-- Videos you watch
-- Views/interactions with content and ads
-- Voice and audio information when you use audio features
-- Purchase activity
-- People with whom you communicate/share content
-- Activity on third-party sites/apps that use Google Services
-- Chrome browsing history when synced with your Google Account

Google products have access to your GPS, IP address, and sensor data for different reasons at different times, whether you’re using Google Maps or interacting with an app that is integrated with Firebase.

Things near your devices, such as public Wi-Fi access points and cell towers will inform Google as to your geolocation. Bluetooth-enabled devices might also interact with bluetooth beacons that are specifically designed to target a small and accurate location radius.

Google says they never sell personal information in a recent email we received. They suggest that website visitors use “My Account” and “My Ad Center” within Google products to manage the settings of privacy on internet browsing data.

Google offers more information about Restricted Data Privacy (RPP) at this link.

Pixels, Cookies, Local Storage, Databases & Server Logs
These are technical details that Google can track either from a pixel implemented on a website (like the Universal Analytics tracking code), cookies, raw data from storage, databases and servers that you interact with that connect with Google or Google products.
